Help. Brown to Blonde hair!?

I have meduim brown-light brown hair, i want to go blonde. I got highlites a few years ago and i hated them. Ive used bleach before and it went a mess. What do you suggest ?

if you are in the uk one of the big brands (i think it is garnier) sell a range of about 4 shades of blonde that you dont need a pre lightener for. i used them a few years ago and found them to be great and easy with good results.

these days however i always go to the hairdressers. they have a wide range of shades without the need for bleach.

You need bleach in order to highlight it. therefore, if your having trouble using it, I would suggest going to a professional hairstylist who knows what they're doing!

It will look gorgeous, because they'll give you like 3 or 4 shades of blonde to make it look natural!

i suggest a gud hairdresser hun, im not being sarcastic or anytin but u risk ur hair goin green and other stuff, a qualified dresser will be able to get u the colour u want without risking any damage

well the only way to go lighter is with bleech u need to be careful as the bleech does damage your hair . if your hair is healthy go for it bleech and get to your hair dressers to snip the ends where the bleech willf fry it if your hair is not in good condition i would suggest high lights and do the change gradual

i had brown hair hated it and wanted to go blonde my hairdresser wold not do it saying it will damage your hair but i did it myself and its fine with a good conditioner and looking after it its recovered hairdressers always seem to dramatise things

I was thinking about doing the same thing and one of my friends told to try on a blonde wig to see if i like it or not. so, maybe you should try that before you go and do it.

my matewent blonde once but it ended up orange ish and minging her hair has never been the same

I would suggest a hair stylist as they have all the right treatments and aftercare for preventing the frying of your hair. Dark to light is always a tricky gamble and will probably require several applications to get the right shade which can damage your hair and then theres the orange tint that many people suffer after bleaching. Toners after bleaching can be used for the orange tint if you want to gamble the process yourself but a salon really is the best bet.
