Why do some people have blonde hair when young, but outgrows as brown when they get older?

Yes, obviously this has to do with genetics, but not all members in the family have their blonde hair outgrown, some keep the blonde.

The colour of your hear is controlled by a type of cells called melanocytes. They are at the hair follicle and produce the pigment that colours your hair. The pigment production changes along your life and so does your hair colour.
